The winter storm barreling toward the Twin Cities has put the brakes on a shopping event dubbed the "World's Largest Textile Garage Sale."

Volunteers have been collecting, pricing and sorting through mountains of yarn, fabrics, notions and more for the sale at the Textile Center. Originally scheduled for April 14, the sale has now been rescheduled for April 21, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

But the April 13 Preview Party will go on as planned, from 5:30-8 p.m., with online ticket sales (www.textilecentermn.org) extended until 4 p.m. Preview Party shoppers will have access to premium merchandise, including looms and sewing machines, as well as music and refreshments.

Both the sale and party will be held at the University of Minnesota Re-Use Program Warehouse, 883 29th Av. SE., Mpls. Tickets to the Preview Party are $30 online and $35 at the door. Admission to the sale on April 21 is $3.
