Authorities have identified the woman who was injured in an officer-involved shooting last week outside of Duluth.

Kristen K. Johnson, 48, of Cloquet, was still hospitalized Tuesday at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a firearm-toting suicidal woman at Augustana Lutheran Church in Midway township just before 11 p.m. Thursday, the department said in a statement. Officers found the woman inside a vehicle in the church parking lot. After a standoff lasting more than an hour, and after backup law enforcement had arrived, Johnson got out of the vehicle and threatened law enforcement with the firearm, the department said. Two officers fired, hitting Johnson.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the shooting and will turn its findings over to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office when completed. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is investigating Johnson's actions at the scene.

Both officers who fired their weapons — one Hermantown Police officer and one Minnesota state trooper — are on standard administrative leave.

Johnson was listed in good condition Tuesday evening.
