The man struck and killed by a car in St. Paul last weekend had been identified as Benjamin Leighton.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday that Leighton's official cause of death is pending, awaiting toxicology results.
According to St. Paul police, Leighton, 56, of St. Paul, was struck about 9:30 p.m. Friday by a northbound car on Rice Street that was turning west onto Como Avenue.
The driver cooperated with police at the scene, and was not arrested. There were no signs of alcohol or drug use by the driver.
Leighton was taken to Regions Hospital, where he died about 1:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Ernster said Monday that the crash remains under investigation.
