A walk in an old-growth forest to look for warblers is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, in Wolfseld Woods Scientific and Natural Area. Bring your binoculars and join the guided tour, led by members of the Friends of Wolsfeld Woods. How to get there: Long Lake is west of Wayzata on Highway 12. From city center, take Brown Road a half mile north to County Road 6. Park across the street in the Trinity Lutheran Church lot. SNA entrance is at the far northeast corner of the parking lot. The walk will include gentle hills. Depending on weather, the path could be muddy. The SNA contains 220 acres of mature woods, wetlands, and a lake. It is designated as a watchable wildlife area.
