Preview: With Tuesday's 4-3 win at Boston and Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over San Jose, the Wild rallied from two goals down in the third period to win consecutive games for the first time in team history. The West's only unbeaten home team (4-0), went 6-3 in October, outshooting all nine opponents 320-209. The Wild is 14-9-2 all-time at home against the former North Stars.

Players to watch: Wild G Darcy Kuemper (5-2) is expected to start. He won his third career shootout game Thursday and is 15-3-2 all-time at home with a 1.69 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. Stars C Tyler Seguin entered Friday's play tied for the NHL's scoring lead with 15 points and tied for fourth with seven goals. C Jason Spezza was tied for seventh with 12 points.

Numbers: The Wild's power play went 0 for October. It has gone 27 straight to start the season without a goal and a franchise-record nine consecutive games.

Injuries: Wild D Jared Spurgeon (shoulder) and LW Matt Cooke (lower body) are out. C Erik Haula (head) and D Jonas Brodin (hand) may return. D Christian Folin (sick) is probable. D Keith Ballard (sick) is out. Stars D Sergei Gonchar (ankle) and D Pat Nemeth (arm) are out.
