Class AAA Rochester: Josmil Pinto is the best prospect in the system but still is learning a couple things about the position. But he's unlike your classic backup. Eric Fryer, signed as a free agent during the offseason, backs him up.

Class AA New Britain: With Pinto gone, Dan Rohlfing is going to get most of the time behind the plate. Rohlfing is batting .243 with no home runs. He has added the outfield and first base to his toolbox in his quest to make the majors in some kind of role. Former Gopher Kyle Knudson has been promoted from Class A Fort Myers to replace Pinto on the roster.

Class A Fort Myers: Matt Koch will handle most of the duties with Knudson now at New Britain. Koch entered the weekend batting .291 with six homers and 34 RBI.

Class A Cedar Rapids: Tyler Grimes was a shortstop when he was taken in the fifth round in 2011 but is transitioning to catcher, and the Twins have been satisfied with his progress. A .209 hitter coming into the season, Grimes entered the weekend batting .252 with six homers, and 25 RBI and a .362 on-base percentage.
