Snow heavy enough to disrupt travel through major passes will spread over themountains and higher valleys of the interior West.Overnight through early Monday, heaviest snow will fall along the SierraNevada, where the highest amounts will reach one foot or more.

Significant snow will also spread along the Cascades of Oregon and Washington,and eastward to the Rockies of Idaho.

Monday and Monday night, the axis of heaviest snow will shift well eastward tothe mountains of central and northern Utah, western Wyoming and southeasternIdaho. Passes will get up to a foot of new snow as lighter snowfall reachesSalt Lake City and other valley sites.

The major highway likely to be most widely affected by snow will be InterstateHighway 80. Crossings of California's Sierra Nevada and the Wasatch of Utahwill be travel hot spots, as usual. But even normally drier valleys fromwestern Nevada to central Wyoming will be prone to snowfall enough to slickenpavements.

Other major highways subject to slower travel, at least through passes, will beI-5, I-15, I-70, I-84 and I-90.
