Lynx guard Seimone Augustus missed Saturday's game with the New York Liberty at Target Center because of a sore hamstring that, according to coach Cheryl Reeve, has been bothering Augustus for a while.

Veteran Tanisha Wright moved into the starting lineup.

Reeve said Augustus was basically shut down during the week between games, after the hamstring gave her trouble in the team's loss at Connecticut on June 9, a game in which Augustus made just one of five shots in 15 minutes of playing time. The hope was a week's worth of rest and rehab would have Augustus ready for Saturday's game. But she's not quite ready yet.

"We were hopeful,'' Reeve said. "She was still feeling it a little bit, and we just said, 'It's not worth it.' Let's get her right. And, next time she plays, she's able to peak perform and not just survive out there.''

Augustus, 34, is averaging a season-low 25.8 minutes per game, shooting 45.3 percent overall and 10.7 points per game.

Reeve said the hamstring has been unpredictable; it felt good, Reeve said, in the victory at Washington, then was a problem two days later at Connecticut.

"I don't know exactly when it happened to her, or when it became a problem,'' Reeve said. "I just know it's on-again, off-again.''

With Wright in the starting lineup, Alexis Jones moved into Reeve's rotation at backup guard.
