'Two Mile Hollow'

Nodding to "Downton Abbey," "The Royal Family" and "August: Osage County," playwright Leah Nanako Winkler has identified a subgenre of dramas that she styles "white people by the water." She satirizes these plays in her own comedy, "Two Mile Hollow." The twist is that as the WASP-y, drink-swilling Donnellys gather to mourn the death of their patriarch, all the characters are played by actors of color. The play, which premiered last fall in Chicago, is being staged at Mixed Blood Theatre by director Randy Reyes in a co-production with Theatre Mu. The high-wattage cast includes Ivey Award winners Sun Mee Chomet, Sherwin Resurreccion and Meghan Kreidler. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun. Ends March 4. Mixed Blood Theatre, $25 guaranteed admission. Free rush line. 612-338-6131, mixedblood.com.)
