Ryan Helminen won the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am for the third time in five years Sunday, closing with bogey-free 4-under 67 at Southview Country Club in St. Paul.

The final round was delayed two hours because of severe weather and thunderstorms.

Helminen shot 10-under 203 for 54 holes. He edged former champion Jeff Sorenson of The Minikahda Club by one shot. Sorenson shot a 5-under 66, the day's low round. Jon DuToit, the 36-hole leader, shot 73. Du Toit, a former Gopher, took the lead in the event with an opening-round 63.

Helminen birdied both par-5s on the front nine. On the par-5 fourth, he hit a 6-iron in to about 25 feet and two-putted for an easy birdie. He did nearly the same on No. 6 after hitting his second shot onto the green with a 5-iron and two-putting from the front edge for another birdie.

He added another birdie on the tricky par-4 eighth.

"I look at [Southview] as a par 67 with par 5s," said Helminen. "You have to take advantage of the par 5s and play the rest of the holes smart."
