Authorities have ruled that a fire at a Farmington four-plex building earlier this month was intentionally set, and they are looking for a suspect caught on video walking around the building moments before it went up in flames.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward in hopes that somebody will provide information to those responsible for the July 9 fire at the building on the 300 block of Pine Street.

In a video posted Tuesday on the Farmington Police Department's Facebook page, a man carrying what is believed to be a gas can is seen walking behind the building and peeking in windows. Shortly after fire breaks out.

Two people escaped the burning building by jumping out of a second-story window.

The fire, which was reported about 9:15 p.m., was confined to a single unit.

The suspect in the video is described as a white man approximately 6 feet tall, medium build and was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and shorts. He also may have burn injuries, the posting said.

Anybody with information can call the Arson Hot Line at 1-800-723-2020 or Farmington Police at 651-280-6700.
