The Twins are enhancing roughly 3,700 square feet of underused space for seating and viewing behind center field in what will be the most extensive renovations to Target Field since it opened in 2010.
The team announced Monday that the lower mezzanine level will be known as CATCH and is described by the Twins as an all-inclusive club with access limited to roughly 120 season-ticketholders.
The area will feature “unparalleled access to the latest technology and a vibrant entertainment experience,” the team’s announcement read. Beverages and food are included in the season-ticket price, which will range from $1,500 per seat for a 20-game package to $6,885 for a full season of front-row seating.
Above, the club level will be named Minnie & Paul’s and will be open to all fans. The space will include a Twins-themed pub under the ballpark’s iconic center field handshake sign and will also feature Minnesota-branded food options. Access to this area is open to anyone with a ticket.
The team said the renovations will be finished before Opening Day. The new spaces will also be available for events, private functions and meetings year-round.
The renovations “will change [Target Field’s] overall capacity a little bit, but the new attendance figure is still to be determined,” said team spokesman Chris Iles.
In anticipation of a high demand for the area, a random ticket-purchase process has been established. Those interested are being directed to register at twinsbaseball.com/premiumCATCH by Nov. 18.
Populous, the Kansas City, Mo.-based sports architecture firm that led the design of Target Field, is spearheading this upgrade, with Minneapolis-based Mortenson Construction overseeing construction.
