Daily concerts will keep jazz fans entertained during the Iowa City Jazz Festival Fri.-Sun. Dozens of local and regional artists will perform on various stages in front of the historic Old Capitol building and on Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue. The popular annual event features artists' displays, children's fun booths, food vendors and more. The opening weekend of Winona State University's 15th annual Great River Shakespeare Festival features live music by the Lowest Pair at 5 p.m. Fri. and the Dixieland Jazz Festival beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sat. The season continues through Aug. 5 with the plays "All's Well That Ends Well," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Shakespeare in Love," "Venus in Fur" and "The Merchant of Venice." Rodeo fans will head for the Black Hills over the July 4th weekend for the 99th annual Black Hills Roundup Sat.-July 4. A kickoff party starts at 6 p.m. Fri. on the roundup grounds.
