Player to watch: Carsen Edwards, G, Purdue
The talented 6-foot sophomore could've taken a backseat to veterans Isaac Haas and Vincent Edwards this season for the No. 5 Boilermakers. Not so fast. He's Purdue's leading scorer (16.9 points per game), a confident shooter and arguably the Big Ten's top guard.
Game of the weekend: Michigan at (4) Michigan State
11 a.m. Saturday, Ch. 9: If you're not at the Barn and decide to turn the channel away from the Gophers getting blown out by Purdue, this is the Big Ten rivalry to watch. The Wolverines were close to knocking off Purdue earlier in the week. This would be an even bigger win.
Final thought: Awareness on the rise
It's uncertain what will happen with Reggie Lynch, as he appeals being found responsible for sexual misconduct in two incidents. Nothing that involves sexual assault is easy to talk about (or write about), but as we gain a better understanding of these issues hopefully our awareness expands as well.
