A Prior Lake man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a popular bar near the University of Minnesota pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

Benjamin E. Sloan, 23, sat down next to a woman he did not know at Sally's Bar on Sept. 11, 2016, grabbed her breasts and digitally penetrated her, according to the criminal charges.

As she kept saying "no" to him, he tried to kiss the woman and bit her on the shoulder.

Under a plea deal, Sloan will serve 80 days in a workhouse and must register as a predatory offender, according to his attorney, Joe Friedberg.

"This was a reasonable outcome," Friedberg said.

In spring 2014, about two weeks after a prank letter went out under official-looking Prior Lake High School letterhead announcing "mandatory vagina inspection" at the gym, a photo of an 18-year-old Sloan and three others holding the bogus notice was posted on Twitter with the hashtag "SeniorConfession."

The fake letter sparked outrage from school administrators as the letter's contents drew national media attention.
