Preview: The 51-14 Warriors' seven-game winning streak ended with Friday's 125-108 loss at Portland. They played without injured star Stephen Curry, who injured his ankle for the fourth time this season in Thursday's comeback home victory over San Antonio. Before that, they had won seven consecutive games coming out of All-Star break and 10 of 11 overall. … The Warriors are 13-1 in the next game after a loss and they've lost consecutive games just seven times in the Steve Kerr era, which began in 2014-15. Their longest losing streak in that time is three games. … The Timberwolves have lost three in a row for the first time this season.

Player to watch: Kevin Durant is averaging 29.6 points in 16 games when Curry has been out injured. Durant has led the team in scoring in 14 of those games and he has scored 30 or more points seven times and 40 or more twice. … In 12 starts this season, C JaVale McGee is averaging 6.8 points on 69.1 percent shooting as well as 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. In his eight starts since the All-Star break, the Warriors are 7-1.

Injuries: Wolves G Jimmy Butler (knee meniscus surgery) remains out indefinitely. Warriors G Curry (ankle) is out, as are F David West (arm cyst), F Jordan Bell (ankle sprain), G Patrick McCaw (wrist); F Andre Iguodala (wrist sprain) is questionable.
