A release of pool chemicals at a Plymouth hotel Thursday afternoon prompted evacuation of the building, including an adjoining Green Mill restaurant and the Plymouth Playhouse theater, officials said.
The incident occurred about noon at the Ramada, just to the southeast of the Hwy. 55 and Interstate Hwy. 494 intersection, according to emergency dispatch communication. Initial reports say two people fell ill when an employee mixed chlorine and muriatic acid.
The hotel, restaurant and theater were evacuated, theater spokeswoman Linda Twiss said. "There was an audience of about 70 people" for the 1 p.m. staging of "Big Pants & Botox" at the time, Twiss said.
The hotel, restaurant and theater were up and running by about 2:30 p.m.
