The Minnesota Department of Revenue said Saturday that it plans to hold a news conference Monday to update the public on the problems it reported Friday with electronic tax filing services, including Intuit's TurboTax.
The state warned Minnesota individuals and businesses against using the systems due to multiple problems. Several electronic tax programs produced by Intuit, including TurboTax, have failed to record some filing information. State officials learned of the problems from consumers and Intuit.
An Intuit spokeswoman said Friday that the company is working to fix the problems.
Assistant Commissioner of Revenue Terri Steenblock said the state had no new information from Intuit on Saturday but added, "We do have a conference scheduled with them on Monday, and I am hoping we will get more of an update then as to the status of the issues and plans to correct them."
About 11,000 Minnesota returns haven't been processed because of the problems. If the coding isn't fixed, Steenblock said, the state will stop accepting returns filed with Intuit software.
