Police in Eagle Lake, Minn., are warning residents after a masked man allegedly attempted to lure children into his vehicle by using money.

The suspect threw a "handful of coins" in front of four children on Wednesday in front of the Eagle Lake Firehall. Two of the children said they saw the same behavior on Thursday, according to a crime alert from the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

In a second incident, a child said the vehicle followed him "very slowly" as he walked on Parkway Avenue. Another told police that the driver stopped, "dropped cash and ordered the child to get into his vehicle," the alert said.

That student said the driver was wearing a suit, tie and mask. Police described the vehicle as a four-door red car with rust on the back side. They said the vehicle could be from Texas with a license plate starting with GHX.

Anybody with information is asked to call police at 1-507-257-3110.
