The Minnesota State High School League is looking into what St. Cloud police called a large fight involving players and fans after the Minneapolis North-Brooklyn Center boys' basketball game Friday night at St. Cloud State.

No injuries were reported and no arrests were made, police said.

The incident apparently resulted in the post-game medal ceremony being canceled at Halenbeck Hall. About 12 police officers responded and helped with dispersing the crowd and escorting players and fans to their buses.

The high school league is "in the process of gathering information and also working with other officials and school administrators in this matter," spokesman Tim Leighton said in a statement Saturday.

Brooklyn Center defeated North 81-76 to advance to the Class 2A state tournament next week. A spokeswoman for Brooklyn Center Community Schools said the district does not believe Brooklyn Center players were involved in the altercation.

"While we are still looking into the details of what occurred, we maintain high expectations of sportsmanship among our fans and players," Tara Drey, a district communications specialist, said in a statement.
