Trump confidante and former "Apprentice" star Omarosa Manigault has resigned from her position in the White House.

Manigault has been one of Trump's oldest political allies and served as director of communications for the White House Public Liaison Office.

"We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in statement to BuzzFeed.

The resignation is set to take effect on January 20, 2018 — exactly one year to the day from President Trump's inauguration.

In her role in the Public Liaison Office, Manigault managed official White House outreach to a number of groups, though her influence was widely believed to extent much further.

Before the arrival of General John Kelly as Chief of Staff, Manigault was known to frequently stop by the Oval Office to chitchat with Trump, the Daily Beast reported in September.
