SEATTLE – Despite a game-high 30 points by Odyssey Sims, the Lynx lost to the Storm 82-74 on Sunday in Seattle.
Jordin Canada scored 14 points to lead the Storm, which never trailed.
Jewell Loyd and Natasha Howard had 13 points apiece, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added 11 and Mercedes Russell and Alysha Clark scored 10 apiece for Seattle (15-13).
Clark made a pull-up jump shot, stole a pass and then fed Canada for a basket that made it 11-0 midway through the first quarter.
Minnesota went 0-for-5 from the field and committed six turnovers during that span.
Sims scored 18 of her season-high point total in the third quarter as the Lynx (13-14) trimmed their deficit to 67-63.
But a Loyd three-point play sparked a 9-2 run to open the fourth and Minnesota never again threatened.
"We just didn't get enough help from other people," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said.
Sims made 11 of 14 shots from the field.
"She had a will about her," Reeve said of Sims. "She was shooting it — pull-ups and she got to the basket, banked a three in and created some stuff off of her defense. She was tenacious, and that's what Odyssey has done for us all season. She's been our best player."
Napheesa Collier scored 16 points and center Sylvia Fowles added 11 for the Lynx. They have lost three of their past four games.
"We have to move on and have a short-term memory," Sims said. "We have LA on Tuesday so we have to get ready."
Despite the slump, Reeve still has the team focused on earning a Western Conference postseason spot.
"We've been in playoff preparation since after the All-Star break," she said. "A hard game on the road in the playoffs — this is what that looks like. From that standpoint, if we can get there, we'll have a sense of what that feels like because we're likely to be on the road [in the playoffs]."
