Swanson, Arthur J. "Art" Age 86, of Fridley passed away August 31, 2015. Art grew up in Brooklyn Center, worked at Theisen's Market in N. Mpls where he met his wife Norma. The family moved to Fridley as he managed the Theisen's Mkt which later became Art's Superette. After the grocery business, Art was a top salesman at Art Goebel Ford for 23 years. A loving family man, Art enjoyed camping, golf, Twins games on the radio, a mean game of cribbage and giving people nicknames. He was a member of N. Mpls Serra Club and the Fridley Council of the K of C. Art is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Theisen Swanson; daughter: Denise (Mike) Polich; sons: Ken (Jayne), Dave (Renee) Swan, John, Jerry (Trisha), Gary (Bill); grandchildren: Ben, Matt, Alicia, Kelsey, Justin, Dani, Brandon, Charlotte, Jenna, Jake, Jim, Tone, Steve, Tricia, Lori, Chris; great grandkids: Dylan, Marcus, Brooke, Dani, Blake, Ben, Aden, Emma, Jacob, Hank, and Beau. Brother Vernon, sisters-in-law: Barb Theisen, Bea Springob, Fran Theisen, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Anna Slanga Swanson and Arthur E. Swanson. Visitation Wed., Sept. 9, 5-8pm at the Church of St. William, 6120 5th St. NE., Fridley. Mass of Christian Burial Thurs., Sept. 10 at 10:30am with visitation one hour prior at church.
