Olson, Maynard W. age 91, of New Hope, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Aug. 29, 2015. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Loretta; children, Dianna (Jerry) Juelich and Kathy Ess; grandchildren, Tyler Ess, Beth (Tim) Velotta and Andy (Maria) Juelich; great-grandchildren, Giuliana, Luca, Sequoia and Kai; brother, Wesley. He joined the Marines at age 19 and was in the third wave to land on Iwo Jima. Maynard worked at a job he loved for 42 years at Tension Envelope. He loved working in his workshop, playing cards, eating lutefisk, listening to polka, and visiting with friends in his garage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rinehart & Betty Olson; brothers, Marvin, Delmar, Floyd, Raymond and Dale; son-in-law, Neil Ess. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. Funeral service Thursday, 9/3/15, 11 AM at First Lutheran Church of Crystal, 7708 62nd Ave N., Crystal.
