Schissel, Dr. Gregory A. Age 92, of New Hope. Died August 22, 2015. Born in Calmar, Iowa to Alphonse and Mary, Greg was the last survivor of seven siblings. During WWII Greg served in the Army Air Force as a B17 pilot. He was ever grateful for the GI Bill which enabled him to get his degree at UMN where he met and married Mary Foley, his wife of 58 years. After earning his MD Greg started a family practice in Crystal, MN and was soon joined by partner and dear friend Jim Pattee. He loved the Crystal Drs. Park gang and the community they served. In 1972 Greg left to work for the US Foreign Service in Liberia and South Africa before returning to private practice. He was an active person who loved travel, the lake, and the outdoors. Greg and Mary had eight children: Gregory, Stephanie (Joe Palen), Pat (Scott Anfinson), John Foley, Thomas (Roxanna), Anne, Peter, and Nicholas; 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
