Lois Jech

Jech, Lois Dancer & entertainer extraordinaire; Lois strutted her stuff in lots of venues, and is now with the LORD of the Dance! Lois, 74, succumbed to complications from Alzheimer's, at Martin Luther Manor in Bloomington on July 29. This "leggy" babe was born tapping, on Jan. 10, 1941, in Austin, MN; and kept her feet moving and clicking until the end. Her life was filled with the joy of service in careers as an X-Ray tech, home health aide; but her real love was tapping to music of the 40's and 50's; especially in the New Fogey Follies as choreographer and dancer! Her Red Hat Sisters remember her for fun-loving style and tap dance instruction. She is survived by her "crazy-in-love" husband, Art; married sons: Jay (Tammy) & Eric (Denise); & married stepdaughter, Edel (Tom). Grandchildren include: Tyler, Casey, Anna, Amelia, Marie, Bergen, & Liam. Great-grandchildren include: Maija, Lily, Abby, Freya, Syler & Xara. This grammy-whammy would dance at the drop of a hat (or her pants! - revealing leotards under) for her little boo-boos, or anyone who'd give her accolades. She is preceded in death by parents: Eugene & Catherine Heimer; and a sister, Cathy. Siblings include: Patty, Joanne, Brooks, Jimmy, Barbie, & Larry. Celebration of her Life will be held on August 7, at Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Ave. So., Bloomington; starting with visitation at 9:00am, Mass at 10:00am; followed by a lunch. Memorials in lieu of flowers made to the Alzheimer's Association, specifying Team Lois K. Jech, Minneapolis Walk 9/26/15.
