Sullivan, Michael (Mike) Don Age 82, longtime resident of Apple Valley, MN. He was born in Two Harbors, MN to Arthur J. Sullivan and Marjorie C. (Miller) Sullivan. As a young child he and his parents moved to Duluth, MN. He attended elementary and high school in the Duluth area. He was employed by the DM&IR Railroad until entering the United States Marine Corps in 1952. He was stationed in Japan and Hawaii during his tour of duty. He returned to Duluth where he met and married his wife Janice (Gilbertson) Sullivan in 1960. His employer relocated him to the Twin Cities area and Apple Valley became their new home. Over the 49 years they resided there, he grew to truly love the area due to the many special friendships he made. During the late 1960's he made a job change which introduced him to the workings of a manufacturer's rep agency. His determination and attention to detail that was acquired in the Marine Corps, along with honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic later allowed him to purchase this company, formerly known as Howe Taylor Marketing Agency, thus becoming Michael Sullivan & Associates Inc. He ran his whole life as well as his company with the concept of duty, honor and love of country. Although he was known for being a rather intense man in everything he did and always had high expectations, he was also known by many for his fun-loving personality, compassion and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter, Amy Menard. Survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Janice "Jan"; children, Mary Davis, Michael (Wendy) Menard, Mark (Mary) Sullivan, Shawn (Ellen) Sullivan, Jana (Brent) Campbell; grandchildren, Logan Davis, Jennifer Glaser, Katherine (Casey) Jackson, Robert Menard, Ashley (Rich) Hauge, Shawn Goodman, Jenna, Justin & Luke Sullivan, Michael Shadick, Richard (Christy) Shadick, Barrett, Brayden & Justine Campbell; great-grandchildren, Grant & Ellen Pladsen, Lydia Hedlund, Lucas & Anna Jackson, Estella Menard and Addison Hauge.
