Metzger, Matthew J. III "MJ" age 76, of Deer River, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew J. and Victoria; brothers, Victorian and John. Survived by brother, Dr. Franz (Carol) Metzger; sister, MaryKatherine Heinz (Metzger); many nieces and nephews. Attended Christ the King Grade School, Southwest and De LaSalle High Schools, and the U of MN. MJ distinguished himself as Top Tank Gunner in all of Europe during the Cold War. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting, logging and walking in the woods. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Aug. 3, 11 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5029 Zenith Ave S., Mpls.
