Simmons, Donald A. 82, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015. Born March 17, 1933 to Arvid and Helen (Rodewald) Simmons in Mpls, MN. Don was married to his beloved wife Susanne for 57 years. He served in the Korean War as a navigator in the Naval Air. He had a successful career in insurance; and in retirement, school bus driver. Don loved life, golf and fishing. He touched all with his warmth and humor. Survived by his loving wife, Susanne; and 3 children, Tammra (Tom Bruss) Kistner-Simmons, Donald (Lori) Simmons, and Lisa (Jeff) Nat; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Arvid K. (Helga) Simmons; sister, Virginia Colbert; 3 nephews and 1 niece. Services will be held at Ft. Snelling Nat'l Cemetery on July 30, 2015 at 12:30 pm.
