Betty Mae (Johnson) McNurlin

McNurlin, Betty Mae (Johnson) age 86 of Brooklyn Park, formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away July 24, 2015 after a short battle with breast cancer. Betty was born in Mpls on December 20, 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" of 60 years, her parents, Grace and Spencer Johnson, sister, Irene "Tina", and brothers, Richard and Earl. She is survived by daughter, Kim (John) Schoffstall; son, Todd (Kim) NcNurlin; and 4 loving grandchildren, Maranda and Rob Schoffstall, Sophie and Sydney McNurlin. She will be missed by Little Mac her faithful canine companion. Betty has many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In her later years she cherished her special friendship with Arlene and Steve from the Realife Co-op. She was a long time employee of Lutheran Brotherhood and Sysco Foods. Betty and Bob were founding members of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church. They spent their lives worshiping the Lord and sharing their faith. Their love of Christ was a gift they passed on to their family. Betty had a beautiful smile that she blessed so many people with. She would add a gentle hug whenever she was able. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 8, 11 AM at Cross of Glory, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, with Pastor Doug Mork officiating. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
