Meyers, Donald F. 77 of Burnsville, died at his home on Fri, July 3, 2015. Donald was born Dec. 13, 1937 in Austin, MN to Francis and Lucille (Carroll) Meyers. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1955, from Winona State Univ. and later received his Masters degree from the Univ. of N. Colorado. He received his specialist degree from Mankato State Univ. He married Judy Knopps and later they were divorced. Early on Don was a teacher, but for most of his career he was a principal in the Farmington school district. In 1992, he received the Principal of the Year award for the Capital Division of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals. He retired in 1994. Don liked to fish, he enjoyed traveling with his cousins and was an avid Vikings and Timberwolves fan. Don is survived by his son: Timothy Meyers, So. St. Paul, MN; sister: Jean (Tom) Clagg, Fort Wayne, IN; nieces: Lee (Vinnie) Pallaro and Sara Clagg; nephew: Jason (Meagen) Clagg; & cousins. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Fri, July 10th at Clasen Mortuary 209 2nd Ave NW, Austin, MN. Interment will be in the LeRoy Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to the Amer. Cancer Society.
