Dietel, James Barton 86, was born in Hawkeye, IA on 1/24/29. A steam locomotive blew the final crossing whistle on 7-2-15. He was a charter, active member of St. Croix Railroad for 44 years. He served his Lord lifelong as church organist. After serving his country in the U.S. Army he attended Union College and the University of Minnesota earning an engineering degree. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nellie and his brother David Dietel (May 22,2014). He is survived by his wife Diane of 58 years and sister Alyce Nanny; 3 children, Robin (John) Fisher, Cindy (Alfredo) Basto, Mark (Regel) Dietel; and 6 grandchildren, Ann and Kirk Fisher, Andrew and Krista Basto, and Angela and Kyle Dietel. Memorials can be sent to Southview Church or St. Croix Railroad. Memorial Service will be held at Southview Church, 5750 Wentworth Ave. So., Mpls, MN, 55419 at 3 PM on Sat. July 11, 2015.
