Constance (Preble) Anding

Anding, Constance Preble Constance (Connie) Preble Anding of Plano, TX died peacefully on June 25th, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Preceded in death by husband Thomas (Tom) Anding, son Matthew (Matt) Anding as well as her brother Bruce Preble and her sister Jean Stritter. Survived by her daughter Amy (Ned) Graham, daughter-in-law Susanne Anding, grandchildren Emily, Isabel, Lucy, Cole and Ella, and great-grandson Tatum. Connie was born on November, 20th, 1929 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Norman Bruce Preble and Helen Wetmore Hunt. She attended Grosse Pointe Country Day school, and graduated with honors from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She lived for several years in Boston after college, until the itch to travel took her to Europe with her college roommate "Smitty". She met her future husband Tom in Austria while he was stationed there with the United States Army, and upon his discharge they saw Europe together before settling down in Minneapolis. Connie worked for AAA Travel Agency for more than 30 years as a travel agent and manager. She traveled throughout the world spending time in Asia, Africa, South and Central America and Europe. Connie was also an accomplished poet and artist, and became a docent at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts where she could share her passion for arts with others. After retiring, she and Tom moved to Tucson, AZ where she continued to be involved with the Art Museum of Tucson, The Desert Museum, as well the arboretum. She never stopped learning, and was always interested in helping others to see the beauty in simple things. Even after she started to succumb to the disease of Alzheimer's, she never lost her sense of humor or her zest for life. We would like to express our sincere thanks and love to everyone at Sunrise Senior Living Center of Plano, TX for taking such good care of Connie. She knew how much she was loved, and it was truly home to her. We would also like to thank everyone at Vitas Hospice for your gentle and respectful care. You are truly angels on earth.
