Alice (Monson) Kamps

Kamps, Alice (Monson) of Plymouth. Born March 30th, 1921, passed way peacefully at home on June 30th, 2015, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Theodore William Kamps; parents, Oscar and Margarita Monson; sister, Elaine (Toni) Kordosieur; brother, Clennis (Teddy) Monson. Survived by daughter, Gail (Harry) Youtsos; son, Robert (Kris) Kamps; granddaughters, Heather (Mark) Franklin, Alexis Youtsos, Melissa, Kimberly and Sara Kamps; great granddaughters, Ariana and Skylar Franklin, along with many nieces and nephews. Graduated from Minot State Teaching College in August 1943, she was honored into the Who's Who among students in American Universities and Colleges. Alice was a member of the Delta Epsilon Phi sorority at MSTC, President of Dakota Hall Council, President of League of Women Voters, President of Women's Athletic Association, on the Executive Board of Y.M.C.A., Queen of the 1942 Homecoming, and AAUW member, active in her chapter DJ in PEO, and a current member of St. Phillip The Deacon Church. She and her husband, Theodore enjoyed traveling the world together. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter Ari. Service Saturday, July 4th, at 10 am, with visitation at 9:30 am, at the David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd. in Wayzata. A private interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery at a later date.
