Butala, Aloysius J. "Al" Age 98, longtime St. Paul resident, returned to his Heavenly Father on May 29, 2015. Al was a 1934 graduate of Mechanic Arts High School. U.S. Army veteran of World War II-Aleutian Islands, Philippine Islands, Japan. Retired meat cutter from National Tea / Rainbow, after which he worked at the St. Paul Science Museum for 25 years. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Opitz). A kind and loving man, he will be greatly missed by sons, Mark (Nancy), Dick (Ann) and Jim (Jean); grandchildren, Tom, Laurie (Brendan) Jorgensen, Beth and Meredith; and many wonderful relatives, friends and neighbors. Al enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, gardening and spending time with family, friends and church community. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Cerenity Care Center-Marian of St. Paul and Woodwinds Hospital-2 North. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Maternity of Mary Church or Cerenity Care Center-St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Wednesday, June 3 at MATERNITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1414 N.
