Ryan, James Arthur Age 82 of St. Paul, died peacefully on May 27, 2015 surrounded by his children. Born December 9, 1932 in St. Paul, he graduated from Cretin HS (1950) and the U of M. Jim had over 30 years of teaching English and coaching tennis at Benilde-St. Margaret's and he finished his career at Visitation HS. He loved listening to music, talking about literature and film and pontoon drifting on Green Lake. Preceded in death by parents, James "Art" and Gertrude (nee: Bresnahan). Survived by his caring wife of 57 years, Rose Marie (nee: Mayers); children, Kevin (Jane McManus), Sarah (Wayne) Wood, Philip (Colette), Martha (John) Seal, Ruth (Sean) Sullivan and Edward (Duzdee); grandchildren, Dan (Lauren), Molly (Nate), Joe, Michael, Annie, Amanda (Nathan), Janet (Eric), Mitchell (Laura), William, Benjamin, Ryan, Patrick, Margaret, Blake (Emma) and Jewel; great-grandchildren, Emersen, Madeline and Brian; siblings, Maureen Wolter and Br. Kevin Ryan FSC; along with many loving relatives and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, June 5, 2015 at THE CHURCH OF ST. CECILIA (2357 Bayless Place, St. Paul).
