Leerssen, Cecelia M. (nee Ingemansen) Age 78, of Coon Rapids, passed peacefully May 23, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Rebecca; granddaughter, Heidi; parents, Christian and Claudine; siblings, Anina, Andrew, Donald, Marvin and David. Survived by children, Dawn (Bruce) Leo, Stuart Leerssen, Susan (Mike) Steigauf, Alison (John) Twiss and Adrian Leerssen; grandchildren, Ari (Monaca) Leo, Brienne (Scott) Weiderman, Cara Leo, Joshua Steigauf, Zachary Steigauf, Andrew Steigauf (Nicole), Kristin (Eric) Phair, David (Hannah) Steigauf, Gordie Twiss, Alex Twiss, Brenden, Keleka and Gunner Leerssen; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Frankie Leo and Luke Weiderman; siblings, Ted (Delores), Chris (Elsie) and Bert Ingemansen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cindy was a 1954 graduate of Askov High. She married Gerald Leerssen in August 1955 and moved to Minneapolis while Gerald was completing his chiropractic degree. They later moved to Grand Rapids, MN to open his practice. After 5 years in Colorado, she moved back to Coon Rapids, MN in 1975 where she began a career in title insurance as a closer in the Twin Cities area until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and embroidery and made all her daughter's wedding dresses. Also a great bowler and golfer and enjoyed watching the Vikings, Twins, golf events and "The Young and the Restless." Mostly she loved spending time playing games and cards with family and friends, or reading a good book by the lake. Memorial service 11:00 AM Friday, May 29, with visitation one hour prior at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
