Dennis Palmer Grothe

Grothe, Dennis Palmer 74, passed away on May 23, 2015, from complications of Parkinson's disease at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo, MN. He was born on September 21, 1940, in Minneapolis, MN, to Palmer and Lee Grothe. Dennis grew up in Minneapolis. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958. After high school he worked in the building trades. Dennis and Pam were happily married for 37 years. Denny was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He loved woodworking and was a great cook. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Lee Grothe, his brother Roger, and his nephew Chris Iverson. Denny is survived by his spouse, Pam, of St. Michael, MN; daughter, Sheila (Brad) McDaniel; sons, Daniel (Rebecca) Grothe and David DeChene; his sister, Claudette Mastro; and his beloved grandchildren, Abby and Oskar. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church (11300 Frankfort Pkwy. NE, St. Michael) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 3:00 p.m. at the church.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota at 5905 Golden Valley Rd. #237, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
