Alamil, Candido Milaflores "Tatay" passed away peacefully on May 22, 2015, at the age of 95 years old. He was the husband of late Conchita Alamil and father of the late Lorena Alamil. He is survived by his daughters Bembi Lira, Corazon Soriano, Cecille Alamil; his grandchildren, Hale Lira, Sharon Gomez, Martin Lira, Patricia Lira, and Patricia Soriano; his great-grandchildren, Hamilton Gomez, Augustine Gomez, Montgomery Gomez, and Renee Lira. Born and raised in Legaspi Albay, Philippines, Tatay was a veteran of the Philippine Scouts serving the United States military during WWII. Served with honor and survived the Bataan Death March. He devoted his life to raising his daughters, and gave them all the tools to reach their maximum potential as strong and successful women. Emigrated to the United States and settled in Minneapolis. He was a true family man that grew vegetables, cooked meals, built furniture, installed wiring, discussed politics, helped his grandchildren, and kept strong for his great-grandchildren.
