Watterson, Marie "Malou" Lourdes Age 43, of Excelsior, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Malou is survived by her best friend and husband, Todd; daughters, Marissa and Emma; mother, Iluminada Ligon; sister-in-law, Ethelyn Ligon, and several nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Nicanor and brother, Bob. Malou was born in Chicago and graduated with honors from St Francis Academy in Joliet, Illinois. She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1994 with a degree in business and marketing and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi co-ed business fraternity. Following college, she worked for Q101 radio in Chicago and then Arbitron Inc. in their marketing group. She and Todd met in 1993 while working in an Internship program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and were married there in 1996 and renewed their vows at Disney in 2012. It remained a magical place for both of them. Malou had several passions apart from her family, the last several years saw her devote her incredible energies to the Cancer My Way foundation that she and Todd started together. Her goal was to help people deal with this terrible disease with day-to-day attention to the mental anguish it can bring. Her concept of the "Cancer Fairy", bringing candy to patients to brighten their day while enduring chemo, spread throughout the Twin Cities. A celebration of Malou's life will be held at The Church of St. Therese, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd in Deephaven on Tuesday, May 26 at 2:30 PM. Visitation at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata on Monday, May 25 from 4-7 PM.
