Elvidge, James F. age 86 of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Bloomington, MN, passed away May 2, 2015. Born August 1, 1928 in St. Paul, MN, preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Edith Elvidge, step father Leo Brisbois, and sister Shirley Larkin (Joseph). Survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances (Keller) and children; Joe (Vicki), Vicky (Frank) Theobald, Patti (Bob) Thaden, Mike (Lisa), Nancy (Tim) Albrecht, Jan (Dennis) Johnson, Tom (Lisa), Eileen (Charles) Hilker and David (Diane); 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many friends. Jim was proud of his country and served in the Navy, Army and retired from the Air Force. He loved to travel and they took many trips before and after he retired. He was very devoted to his family and his faith and very involved in his church and also in the Monte Vista community (including coordinating monthly mission trips) where they lived. Jim had a kind and gentle way about him and was able to make friends easily; he will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Visitation Thurs., June 4th from 5-8 pm at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave. So., Bloomington MN 55420. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 5th, 10 am at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave. So., Bloomington MN with visitation one hour prior to the Mass.
