Greenberg, Donald M. age 89, of Oak Grove, formerly of Nowthen, passed into the arms of his Lord & Savior on April 22, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. Born May 23, 1925 in Burns Township, currently the city of Nowthen. Preceded in death by parents, Albin & Edith (Skogquist). Survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby (Malm); sons, Thomas (Betty) of Ramsey and Leonard (Joyce) of Cambridge; daughters, Nancy of New Brighton, Susan (Douglas) Frey of Eden Prairie and Charlotte (Thomas) Sterneman of Zimmerman; brother, Harvey (Ellen) of Nowthen, as well as 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Served in the US Navy during WWII as an Aviation Cadet. The war ended two months before he completed his training to become a Naval Aviator and he chose to return to civilian life rather than proceed with a career in the Navy. He owned and operated businesses in Nowthen, Anoka and Cambridge. He was very proud of his Scandinavian heritage and made three trips to Sweden and Norway to visit relatives. He was a long-standing member of Nowthen Alliance Church and served on the Crown College Board of Trustees and the Ramsey Economic Development Commission, as well as other business, civic, and church committees. A Celebration of Life and God's Faithfulness 11 AM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Nowthen Alliance Church, 19653 Nowthen Blvd NW.
