Waataja, Mary A. age 75, of Columbus, died Monday, April 20, 2015 following a determined battle with Lung Cancer. Mary worked at Columbus Elementary School for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Marion (Knutson) Luke; husband, Carl. She is survived by her children, Vicki (Scott) Weber, Marcee (Brian) Kopp, Ron (Sue) Waataja; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Ila (Jerry) Newville, Jan (Nancy) Luke, Jay Luke; Becky (Mike) Kimberly; other family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends and family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.
