John Paul Kappers

Kappers, John Paul age 44 of Maple Grove, died unexpectedly on April 13, 2015. Survived by loving wife Isabelle "Izzie", precious daughter Iris, sisters Sue (Tim) Ryan and Lisa Vomela, brother Tim (Helen) Kappers, nieces and nephews Elly, Sarah, Jackie, Henry, Matina and Isak, mother and father in-law Jean-Michel and Emilienne Rosol (France), many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and the entire "Jackson Middle School Family." Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Lorraine (Hansen) Kappers (Crystal, MN). Born on June 12, 1970, John graduated from Osseo High School in 1988, earned his teaching degree at Minnesota State Mankato, and spent his career serving students at Jackson Middle School in Champlin, MN. John was a dedicated and loving husband and father who made his wife and daughter feel like "princesses." He always looked forward to travel to France, his wife's homeland, where family, friends, food, and laughter were bountiful. John's passion for education and mentoring youth as a coach, teacher, and school administrator was evident throughout his career. He could often be spotted on the sidelines at Champlin Park Rebel football games by his "Bud Grant-like" presence and was an avid supporter of MN sports, especially the Vikings and Gopher football teams. His family, friends, and students will miss John's sense of humor, the "Kappy Dance", his infectious laughter and his commitment to those he served. JK, you may be gone but will forever be in our hearts. As daughter Iris would say, "me t'aime papa". Visitation (4:00 pm) and Memorial Service (6:00 pm) will be held at First Lutheran Church of Crystal, 7708 62nd Ave. No, Brooklyn Park, MN, on Sunday, April 26. kozlakradulovich.com 763-416-0016
