Bruns, Henry Edmund age 89, of Arden Hills, MN died peacefully in his home Mar. 19 2015. "Hank", son of Bernhart & Alda Bruns, loving father of Sylvia Peters, Henry C. & Frederick. He is survived by his x-wife Jean Moore, & by 4 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren, spread out from TX, MN, MD & Sweden. Hank had many skills & worked in a cabinet shop, served as a Radioman in the Navy during WWII, owned a radio station & spent most of his adult life as an Electrical Engineer working for varied companies such as Collins Radio, UNIVAC, EMR Computers, Control Data, culminating in a long career with the MN Dept of Transportation until his retirement in 1991. After retirement, Hank reinvented himself & became extremely active by volunteering countless hours with the Twin Cities Men's Center where he served in numerous positions for almost 40 years ranging from leading support groups, teaching anger management classes, ministering to men in prison & serving on the Board of Directors. In March 1995, Hank completed 3rd Degree/Master Level training in Reiki using Tradition Natural Healing. He was a 1999 recipient of the Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Service. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, March 28, at EagleCrest Commons 3rd floor chapel beginning at 1 PM. His ashes will be laid to rest in Richton Park, IL next to his Mother & sisters.
