Thomas 'Patrick' Klingen

Klingen, Thomas "Patrick" 1985 - 2015 "I am free." Thomas "Patrick" Klingen entered the loving arms of Jesus on March 17, 2015. He was born on October 26, 1985 in Scottsdale, Arizona, moved to Eden Prairie, Minnesota when he was 3 years old and graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2004. He was a smart, athletic, kind, compassionate, go big or go home kind of a guy. Patrick suffered from mental health issues for over 13 years. He once said cancer would be easier because people would understand. He fought the battle for many years but unfortunately his thoughts took over. He enjoyed helping people with similar issues and tried to be a good listener and supporter. (If you cross paths with someone who also suffers, please reach out, listen and be compassionate in his honor). We worked tirelessly to find programs to help him. He was in 3 different programs since January. However, we are grateful for the staff at Colorado Recovery; he was involved in their program for 3 years and seemed to flourish in their care a few years ago. Patrick was always extremely active and enjoyed reading, sports, snow skiing, water skiing, fishing, walking and hiking with his beloved dog, Boo. He enjoyed ski vacations with his family and summers at the cabin. He is the loving son of Tom & Kathy (née Basso) Klingen, devoted brother to Nick and Tony Klingen and cherished by his grandmother Connie Basso; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony Basso, Richard "Dick" Klingen and Carmen Klingen. A small private ceremony was held on top of Beaver Creek Mountain, Colorado on a bluebird day on Saturday, March 21st with a celebration of life in Minnesota on April 25. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Health) 2280 South Albion Street Denver, CO 80222. There is some comfort knowing he is dancing in heaven and is free from this horrible disease. Our beautiful Patrick may now rest in peace.
