Hachey, William A. "Bill" Age 71, of St. Paul (formerly of Grand Rapids), passed away on March 23. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Lempi (Tervo) Hachey, and his brother, Robert Hachey with whom he spent his early life near the mines of the Iron Range in Marble, MN; as well as an infant son, Samuel. Bill is survived by his five children, Benjamin (Anna), Jonathan (Beth), Valera (Dan), Mariya (Steven), & Matthew; five grandchildren; and ex-wife, Kathryn. Bill ensured that his children always knew of his enduring love for them, and he took every opportunity to share his pride, often to perfect strangers. His passion in life was music. He regularly expressed his gratitude that he was able to make a living doing what he truly loved. After returning from the Vietnam War, Bill and his brother played together in bands, The Outcasts and Eager Pupil. He also spent many years as a self-employed musician entertaining in central MN. He later performed in two bands in Northern MN, Iron Horse and Telstar. He said voices singing in harmony was one of the greatest joys in life. Bill's intelligence, charm, eloquence, wit, and musicality will be treasured memories. A Catholic memorial service will be held at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel at 10 am Thursday, April 2, 2015 with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment following at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Reception to follow at Fort Snelling Officers Club. Memorials preferred to the family. O'Halloran & Murphy 651-698-0796
