Hagman, LaVanne (Hammer) 89 year old resident of Onamia, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Onamia, MN. Visitation with family and friends will be held 1 hour prior to service. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia. LaVanne was born on November 29, 1925 in Odin, Minnesota to Peter and Leone (Hanefeld) Hammer. She grew up in Odin and graduated from St. James High School in 1944. LaVanne was united in marriage to Orville Hagman on January 31, 1945. The couple lived in Madelia, Isle, and Onamia. LaVanne was a homemaker raising 4 children, Sheryl, Dwight, Craig, and Shiloy. She was active in her church, Red Hats, Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteering. LaVanne enjoyed quilting, playing games, and crafting. She liked to spend her time baking and sharing with friends and family. LaVanne Hagman is survived by her children, Sheryl (Collin) Bennett of Chatfield, MN, Dwight (Bette) Hagman of Onamia, MN, Craig (Judy) Hagman of Onamia, MN, Shiloy (Clark) Baldwin of Strawberry Point, IA; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orville in 1999.
