Garmaker, Steven Richard 53, passed away of a sudden heart attack while rehabilitating at Kaiser Foundation Center; two weeks after undergoing spinal surgery. Steven Garmaker was born on April 27, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Steven graduated from Minnetonka High School and the University of South Florida and acquired his Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. Steven had been employed at DaVita for sixteen years as a social worker. Steven was an ardent outdoorsman with a bountiful history of expeditions that he truly enjoyed recalling. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Steven is survived by his wife Denise Garmaker; step-children Mandy Sweeten and her husband Mike, Michael Pollock and Joe Mongeon and his wife Laura; parents Richard and Darlene Garmaker; brother Stuart Garmaker and his wife Judy; nephew Grayson Garmaker; aunt Virginia Rahja and numerous other family members and friends. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
