Elmer 'Nick' Goossen

Goossen, Elmer "Nick" age 87 of St Louis Park went home to his Lord on February 19, 2015. Nick was born in Lustre, Montana on November 18, 1927, the youngest of 8 children. He was preceded in death by his parents Elisabeth and Dietrich Goossen, his brothers, sisters and wife Anne. Survived by many nieces and nephews, including Deborah Kelly and Kate Sielaff (Mark), St. Louis Park, and Greg Schol (Rita), Chaska, and grandnephew Ian Kelly (Shana) of Wayzata. Immediately after graduating from high school in Duluth, Nick joined the Navy in 1945 as a ship fitter. In 1958 he married Anne Reynolds. They enjoyed their wooded lake view home, summer trips to Duluth and the North Shore and the antics of their dog companions until Anne's death in 1989. Elmer was formerly employed at Electric Machinery. He was a member of the American Legion, and the VFW in Hopkins, where he had many friends. Nick was a kind and gentle man, and his loving presence will be missed. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date & he will be interred at Ft Snelling National Cemetery.
